CULTURE IN THE MONTESSORI CLASSROOM
Learning About People All Over the World
It is part of the Montessori Curricula to give Primary children an appreciation of how people all over the world are same and different. We have many ways of doing that. One of the ways that is really fun and meaningful to the children is when their classmates share something from their culture.
We are so lucky that we have children who come from many different cultures. This first year student's family comes from Vietnam. She brought us some beautiful handcrafted pictures to help us learn about her culture. I already had a straw hat from Asia that looked like the one in the picture so we had fun trying it on and talking about the similarities and differences between the people of Asia and the people of North America.
If you would like to share your culture with us, give me a call.
